Rose of Northamptonshire Award for 32nd St Matthew's
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers
Sunday 7
February 2021
Unit
Leader Mandy and her leadership team were nominated for
a Rose of Northamptonshire Award for all the work they
have done throughout the pandemic with 32nd St Matthew's
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers.
The citation mentioned doing weekly bag drops, keeping
the meetings going virtually, working with
Northamptonshire Police to ensure that during the
current lockdown the bag drops could go ahead, and they
also became Community Volunteers. In a Zoom meeting on
Wednesday 3 March, HM Lord-Lieutenant of
Northamptonshire, James Saunders Watson, mentioned that
he even knew about their virtual Christmas party with
all the girls receiving party bags with party food,
gifts, cards and activities.
Mandy and the Team are absolutely thrilled and delighted
that they won and have a Rose of Northamptonshire Award
certificate. They have no idea who nominated them but
are very proud to have this recognition. As far as they
know they are the only Girlguiding Unit to receive one –
as always, flying the flag for St Matthew’s.
The Director of Music, Thomas Moore, is
looking to recruit BOYS from school year 4
to 7 and GIRLS from school year 5 upwards
who are keen to sing and eager to learn.
