Concluding our Saturdays at 4 series, we are thrilled to feature the exceptionally talented pianist, Christian-Peter Hiemstra.
Christian-Peter Hiemstra stands as one of the leading young pianists on the global stage. His prodigious talent became evident early, and by the age of 9, he was admitted
to the prestigious London Royal College of Music. There, he has been honing his skills under the tutelage of renowned British composer and pianist, Prach Boondiskulchok.
Hiemstra has already amassed an impressive array of accolades. He is a laureate of several esteemed national and international solo piano competitions, including the
Marjory Humby Competition, the Rotary Young Musician competition, Neuchatel Val de Travers, and Kronberg International Piano Competition. He is an equally notable chamber
musician, as holder of the primo premio assoluto and audience choice awards from the 2024 Rospigliosi International Chamber Music Competition 2024.
Christian-Peter Hiemstra gave his first piano recital at the age of 10 and debut with orchestra at 12, performing Grieg's A minor concerto with the Bedfordshire Sinfonia.
He has studied with eminent musicians across Europe including Andreas Weber at the Universität Mozarteum, Konstantin Scherbakov at the Disentis Academy, Chiara Opalio at
the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, and has been invited to participate in masterclasses with Marlies van Ghent, Ronan O'Hora, Steven Kovacevich, and Pasquale Iannone.
Christian-Peter's performances have drawn high praise from critics and musicians alike, with his playing lauded for its "personality and daring qualities" (Alim Beisembayev),
and "considered, thoughtful, musical approach" (Paul Ryan). The Kronberger Bote in 2023 highlighted his captivating concert performance stating, "...Pianist Christian-Peter
Hiemstra… erfüllte den Kammermusiksaal des Casals Forum mit den wunderbaren Klängen der Etude de Concert in Des-Dur op. 35, Nr. 2 von Cécile Chaminade."
Christian-Peter Hiemstra continues to captivate audiences with his exceptional talent and dedication to music, marking him as a pianist to watch in the years to come.
